Union Square Music Purchases Nazareth Masters And Publishing Catalogues

Leading independent catalogue company Union Square Music, announce the purchase of the Nazareth catalogue of masters and publishing copyrights.

Nazareth’s career spans from 1968 to the present day, with the band currently playing sell-out international tours. They have enjoyed considerable success in UK, Europe, Scandinavia, South America, US and Canada.

Pioneers of the rock ballad, the Scottish rockers have notched up 13 UK Top 75 hit singles, including “Broken Down Angel”, “Love Hurts”, “Bad Bad Boy”, “This Flight Tonight” and “My White Bicycle”; 8 of which are original compositions. Their 1975 album “Hair Of The Dog” sold over one million copies in the US.

The acquisition covers the masters and publishing catalogues spanning the bands entire career and includes 24 albums plus audio visual material, and some 180 composition copyrights.

Union Square Music will begin a detailed re-issue campaign featuring enhanced studio albums including Razamanaz and Loud ‘n’ Proud, themed compilations and anthologies, as well as exploiting the masters via sub-licensing. Its publishing division will be soliciting covers and synchronisation for the published copyrights.

Union Square Music recently signed a licence for the Madness catalogue and is also home to The Undertones and Stiff Records catalogues.

Peter Stack – MD Union Square Music “ The Nazareth acquisition fits perfectly with USM’s strategy of acquiring quality copyrights across both masters and publishing to exploit through our own physical and digital releases and via licenses to film, TV, games and third party record labels. ”
